Definitely a great place to go!! Didn't know it closed at 5pm so that was a bummer, but I got 3 rainbow trout so I was happy!! I bought a parks pass with my vehicle registration and there was a maintenance youngster there who said he didn't think that covered the pass because it was a state park. Little windy at times but it is October. Took a hoodie off and on a few times. Awesome day!! Pink and silver spinner was my luck. Green glow live worms not a bite.. I caught and released so hopefully they get bigger!!
Beautiful Lake next to Trout Creek.
It is a day use only area for picnics, fishing, kayaking, hiking or biking. There is a shelter for parties as well. The lake has a path that goes all the way around it.
There is a fee for use of facilities.
There are several small parking lots located throughout the park.
Keep a look out for signs that give more information about the land and wildlife.
This is a great place to spend a day with the family. The lake is not too big and it's safe for kayaks, paddle boards. There is a path to walk around the lake and you get the best views around you!
Beautiful lake that is just a quick 50 minutes from Colorado Springs. Great for fishing, easy hikes, kayaking, and paddleboarding. The scenery is amazing and the air is fresh. My family and I enjoyed a great day. Highly recommend if you want to get out of the house for a good family day.
Lovely little park with the sight of Pikes Peak.
We are a young family with 3 children and this was the perfect outdoor spot for us! It had a great shaded picnic area and a beautiful view of Pikes Peak. There's also a lovely little trail around the lake, perfect for the kids to enjoy. There's also a bathroom available.
Great place for a day at the lake. Love taking the kayak out on the lake. Fishing is usually pretty good too. I just wish we could get in earlier than 6:00am.
Great quiet location to just get away from it all for a day. Small lake/park with some good/easy trails. $8 daily fee, so be prepared for that.
